Periodic Table with Charges is maintained by a small editorial team focused on one thing: making ionic charge information accurate and usable for high-school and introductory college chemistry. This page explains where our data comes from and how content gets reviewed before it ships.
How element pages are written
Every element page is written individually — the quick answer, the electron-structure explanation, the worked example, and the FAQ are specific to that element, not filled in from a template. Charges shown as “common” reflect what introductory courses and mainstream references treat as standard; where real chemistry is messier (peroxides, mixed-valence oxides, inert-pair metals), the page says so rather than rounding it off.
Sources we check against
Element identities, atomic numbers, and oxidation states are verified against the PubChem Periodic Table (National Library of Medicine) and the Royal Society of Chemistry’s periodic table. For topics where courses differ — which transition-metal states count as “common,” how oxidation state differs from ionic charge — we follow the conventions of widely used general-chemistry textbooks and flag disagreements in the text. Each element page links its reference sources at the bottom.
Corrections
If you find an error — a wrong charge, a misleading example, a formula typo — email hello@periodictablewithcharges.com with the page URL. Verified corrections are published in the next content update, and pages carry their last-modified date in their structured data. Teachers using this site in class: reports from you get priority.
What this site will not do
No AI-generated filler pages, no charge values invented to fill a table cell, and no content published without a human check. Where a value is a prediction rather than a measurement — as with the synthetic elements — the page labels it as such.
